Fulfilling a promise to his deceased father, one-time outlaw Jesse Custer returns home to West Texas to take over his dad's church. Jesse's mission, however, becomes twisted when his body is overcome by a cryptic force that unleashes within him a highly unconventional power. Together with hell-raising ex-girlfriend Tulip and Irish vagabond Cassidy, the preacher-in-training embarks on a journey to find God in a world inhabited by holy, hellish, and everything-in-between characters. The darkly comedic "Preacher" is based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's popular 1990s comic book franchise of the same name. Executive producers include Sam Catlin ("Breaking Bad"), and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg ("Superbad," "Neighbors").

Hopefully, Preacher will wrap up successfully, and keep on finding new ways to offend as many people as possible. But the feeling is certainly that it's time to let the show go. The end? It's arriving just in time, almost.

Had the showrunners elected to call this series by a different name it may have been a modest hit or a cult classic. Instead, AMC's Preacher is a series that just shares a title with an iconic comic book. This is not the Preacher we deserved.

This has always been the thing with Preacher, from the source material on. It has plenty to say about humanity & faith & life, but to hear it you have to live through the juvenilia. With Season 4, though, for the first time, that does not feel worth it.

A Chaotic, Darkly Funny, and Underrated Adaptation Preacher is unapologetically weird, violent, and blasphemous—and yet, it somehow works. While it doesn’t perfectly adapt the comic, it nails the essence of the characters, making for an engaging and chaotic supernatural road trip. ✔ Tulip & Cassidy are the MVPs – They elevate the show, providing the charisma, unpredictability, and emotional depth that make it more than just a shock-fest. ✔ God is actually an interesting character. ✔ The Grail’s various agents are fun to watch—Herr Starr is particularly fantastic. ✔ Insane action sequences, ridiculous humor, and moments of true brilliance. ❌ Dominic Cooper is fine as Jesse, but he lacks the commanding presence Preacher needs. ❌ Some episodes meander too much, stretching out the plot unnecessarily. ✔️ Verdict: While it never reaches the brilliance of the comic, Preacher is a wild, unique ride with plenty of standout moments. The strong supporting cast makes it highly rewatchable, even if it doesn’t hit every mark. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Do auge para a indecência que essa série se tornou. Essa temporada não me fez rir, o que descaracteriza a essência da série. Sem contar dos inúmeros furos e arrastamentos desproporcionais que tornou a série repetida e indiferente.

The only problem with this series is that it ended sooner than it should, thanks to contractual issues apparently. It seems that some short-sighted moron investors didn't like the idea of giving the deserved space for this respectable plot to develop a little further. That said, the final work is exquisite and noteworthy, resolving conflicts much more deeply than in the solutions found in the original comic book version.
