Knocking down roadblocks only to see another put in front of him has been the way of Cory Gunz's life in music. The son of rapper Peter Gunz, Cory followed his dad's footsteps into the hip-hop world and signed his first record deal at 16, but his career has since flat-lined as he's been released from two major labels. "Son of a Gun" documents perhaps Gunz's last chance at a sustained career in music, his journey to fulfill his dream bolstered by guidance from his dad and actor-producer Nick Cannon (who, not coincidentally, executive produces this series).
