What to Know

Critics Consensus

Squid Game's unflinching brutality is not for the faint of heart, but sharp social commentary and a surprisingly tender core will keep viewers glued to the screen - even if it's while watching between their fingers.

See more Marta P @Mila26 Jan 11 Absolute a masterpiece! Is brilliant, no detail is left to chance. It glues you to the screen, keeps you breathless, and is full of twists and turns. It's fantastic. See more Andres V @IntenseReviews Dec 27 Season 1 was the definition of perfect they did everything right the writing character development the emotional moments probably one of the best non-English acting I’ve ever seen the show shows poverty and what people do during crisis, my opinion this could actually happen in the world today but the emotional moments they do incredible I believe mostly everyone I know was crying during that old man scene. The twists were incredible almost everything was incredible. The acting was incredible. The games were incredible. Even the side characters were incredible Whoever worked on this show deserves a raise This should’ve just been a one and done thing, but obviously, Netflix had to milk the rest of the show but no matter I have a couple problems with the later seasons but still overall, pretty good show Season 1 10/10 amazing introduction to an amazing series See more Fran M. @FranMarianne Dec 22 One of the few shows I would consider a masterpiece See more Karl H @Kjh1972 Dec 20 I have already rated squid 2 with half a star , far more than it deserves. But squid game ,is original and good to watch . Funny how Netflix made squid 2/3/4 last 2 to come. Yet cancel so much,I can't find a non cancelled English show,(can't include stuff like wednesday) because it still in production, but most of the shows are cancelled on cliffhangers by netflix who then lie about who cancelled (kaos) is a good example . But I am going off the topic sorry . The show is an enjoyable horror/dystopian mix, 500 people in desperate debts agree to play a game the winner gets about(£28 mill) in UK money . They are unaware at first that the games are lethal. The games are interesting red light green light. And like the game I just stated some are knowing throughout the world, some by different names. So people can relate to the games,I definitely recommend squid games , but don't watch squid games 2 ,it is the worst show ever. See more roberto d @Robertodibex Dec 8 Squid Game is absolutely amazing — one of those rare shows that stays with you long after you finish it. It’s the kind of series you can rewatch from time to time and still feel the same intensity and excitement as the first viewing. The setting in Korea gives it a unique atmosphere that really stands out. Overall, it’s a gripping, stylish, and unforgettable show. Definitely one of my favourites. See more Read all reviews
