During her time on "Growing Pains," actress Tracey Gold struggled in her battle with anorexia, becoming one of the first celebrities to publicly acknowledge such a disorder. Since then, she has become an advocate for awareness of it and other eating disorders. In this series, Gold tries to help women overcome their life-threatening conditions. In each episode, she works with a woman in the grips of anorexia or bulimia, using her own experience to reach the woman in ways that others cannot. Gold works with a team of specialists to help the women confront the realities of their conditions and find the treatment they need to start to turn their lives around.
