Critic Consensus: Energy and optimism abound in "Human for a Day," an installment that proves you don't have to be super to act like a hero -- though being able to fly doesn't hurt.

Critic reviews for Human for a Day
I think it speaks well of the show that despite having some really solid special effects and.... fight sequences, the best part of it so far has been stripping their lead of her powers and making her deal with a crisis without them.
This is a series that, when it hits, is top-to-bottom impressive, and "Human for a Day" exemplifies the very best of not only this show, and not only this creative team, but of superheroes in general.
Instead, this turned out to be an excellent - and more rare than it should be - case of one of the DC shows turning the hardcore fans' knowledge against them, with... J'onn J'onzz, aka the Martian Manhunter.
Still, Cat is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters.
Supergirl is an aspirational figure, and tonight's episode captures what makes her such a strong one.
