Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad") stars in this Hulu original as Eddie Lane, a member of a new-age spiritualist movement known as Meyerism. Unbeknownst to his wife and children, who are also members of the movement, Eddie has a vision about Meyerism's founder that causes him to have a crisis of faith -- right as he is expected to advance further up the spiritual ladder. Eddie decides to secretly meet with a Meyerist defector, causing his wife (Michelle Monaghan) -- an important figure in Meyerism -- to become suspicious. As the movement grows exponentially worldwide, Eddie is forced to face the question of whether he can grow Meyerism without becoming a cult leader.

Overall, it's not a bad beginning to a series intent on exploring human suffering and the lengths people will go to in order to stop hurting. Go to Full Review

Scientology, and any "coincidental resemblances to it," may pique viewers' interest, but The Path doesn't need it to sustain a tense, layered drama. Go to Full Review

Even in that less-than-gripping first hour, Eddie and Sarah's story line is the least engrossing, in large part because the talented Paul and Monaghan are asked to play circumstances, not characters. Go to Full Review

The heady brew of eroticism and surreal mysticism can be seductive, but the show's unsteady tone makes it hard to want to swallow the Kool-Aid. Go to Full Review

The Path mostly is notable for Aaron Paul giving his all in the service of a role that finds him on familiar shaky ground in a series with too many ruts. Go to Full Review

It's frustrating when a series hitches its drama to a lack of communication as its primary conceit because the solution seems so simple. Go to Full Review

Faiz D May 14 Well made, well acted but really want this to be better. See more 06/19/2020 This season only is worth to watch compare with Season 2 and 3. At least this one is good to watch. Just stop watching after season 1. Wanna waste ur time? Welcome to looser club. See more 02/13/2019 One of the most intriguing and thought provoking television series I have seen in quite some time. The first season allows you to dive right into the cultural and community of what a cult (or "movement") may behave like in today's American society, while also exploring human interaction and what faith means to the individual. The character's and their development are what drive the show and what truly keeps a viewer coming back, even if there are some pacing issues which make certain plot points never come to fruition. That being said, I highly recommend this series for anyone looking to binge a new, exciting and mind-bending experience which will have yourself taking a step back and asking, "What is the truth? What is faith?" See more 06/13/2018 At least give the show a great ending shame on Hulu! See more 05/21/2018 As someone who watches a lot of drama, I feel qualified in stating my opinion that this series is an amazing breath of fresh air in an industry of stale junk. The character and plot development is strong and I find myself interested in what is going on which is much more than I can say about other dying series' (twd, anyone?) I was very sad to see it had been canceled. Strong writing and substance is so hard to come across these days.. See more 03/28/2018 Can everyone just watch this show so I can chat your ear off? I LOVE it See more Read all reviews
