Solid performance by the leads and supporting actors Elliot Edusah and Dougray Scott keep the show watchable throughout, even when the persistent crow imagery becomes heavy-handed. Go to Full Review

The Crow Girl, a series that mistakes earnestness for significance and desolation for insight. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Go to Full Review

A very well-made, pacy drama whose overall confidence, style and authenticity carry it over the odd clunking line. Go to Full Review

We’re a bit wary that all the stories the first episode of The Crow Girl introduces won’t come together, and it’s a tonally inconsistent episode. But we’re also going to keep watching, mainly because of the potential twists and turns. Go to Full Review

For fans of more pessimistic and dark detective material, The Crow Girl is easily a worthwhile watch; you'll just want to take a long, cleansing shower by the end of it. Go to Full Review

When the separate threads start to weave together in the final half of the series, you may be ahead of some revelations, depending on how literate you are in the genre, but the writer’s command of the story remains impressive. Go to Full Review

R T @RT25444577 5d Audience Review: Disappointed by Repetitive Casting While The Crow Girl offers an intricate psychological mystery, the execution is weighed down by predictable and repetitive character dynamics. It feels like yet another modern television programme that relies on a specific formula: complex or antagonistic roles are overwhelmingly assigned to white characters, while ethnic minority characters are consistently portrayed as innocent victims. This presentation is becoming a dominant theme across many contemporary shows, making the character arcs feel less organic and more driven by industry trends. Instead of offering nuanced, unpredictable characters across the board, the series falls into a repetitive pattern that takes away from the suspense of the plot. It is a well-produced drama, but the predictability of these social tropes ultimately weakens the storytelling. Lesley Morrison 10/06/2026 See more Robin H @RT16578982 May 20 With the great Eve Myles this should be good, but with so many disconnected stories going on for several episodes it just loses all tension. A very boring psychiatrist who appears to have little connection with the case, an enigmatic black guy who gets into fights and barely says anything whilst staring into space, various children who presumably were historically involved but never explain themselves. What a waste! See more J C @RT51352149 Oct 14 The first four episodes drew me in but by the fifth, I realized there wouldn’t be a straightforward resolution and I was right - who were the bad guys? And (spoiler alert?) was Sophia Vlreally Victoria? See more Jonathan M @Jonathan555 Sep 18 Inappropriate sexual dialogue from teens. Too much bouncing around without explanation. The lead detectives had a decent chemistry, but the artist husband/father in law scenes seemed ridiculous. See more Steve C @RT09523610 Aug 13 By the end it had become ludicrous. It was evident from the outset that Sophia could never be an accredited psychotherapist. Even worse was having the same character represented by three separate actresses, two of them in the same timeframe. This sort of thing can work quite well in prose when characters are created in the mind's eye, but it's a disaster on screen when the audience is told to retrospectively deny what they've already been shown. Bullshit! See more Ruben D @Pomo26 Jul 23 Mwah. Interesting at times, but never really came to full depth. The added ‘humour’ was cringe, and the last episode felt unfulfilling.
