However, instead it’s a bunch of people having their five minutes of fame and milking it for all it’s worth. Three seasons of absolute rubbish. If just the facts were used, the story could have been told in an hour episode max. There have been no convictions. The Barnetts were not charged or convicted of child abuse, neglect or abandonment, even though they should have been convicted if all Nataliia’s allegations are true. Michael Barnett should be sentenced to life for his appalling over acting and unconvincing sincerity, if nothing else. Netflix can be counted on to exploit a vulnerable, disabled, basically a teenager. This honestly makes me want to cancel my subscription. This girl obviously has mental health problems and just the basic problems of young adulthood. Shame on anyone exploiting that for money. See more The S @The_Stranger 01/07/2025 This is just more modern, pop culture drivel. One of the issues with living in this era is that everything created is done with money in mind. Not storytelling, not art, not to produce something that adds to the greater good. This is idiocracy packaged into 4 episodes. The producers are exploiting a bunch of people who are exploiting this woman (Natalia). So it’s like this circular financially beneficial setup, all of it based around these dramatized trainwreck of a situation. And now the story has kind of dwindled so they’re milking it so hard to keep it going and to keep the money coming in. First episode could have been 5 minutes…it’s the same storyline over and over because frankly, there are no new developments and it can’t just end or the money dries up. And the producer…I’m sure he didn’t grow up hoping to create the Jerry Springer of documentaries but that’s what this is. Do yourself a favor and skip it…reality tv programming really has sped up the decline into American idiocracy and series like this are leading the way, unfortunately. See more Read all reviews
