What to Know

Critics Consensus

Though it doesn't quite rewrite the book on legal dramas, The D.A. delivers complex characters and a fascinating exploration of political intrigue.

Catherine Dawson March Globe and Mail 01/22/2020
All I can recommend of this new drama are the blue Brazilian eyes of Bruno Campos. When he is on the screen, the confusing script, boring story and constant shouting by lead Steven Weber simply fade into the background. Go to Full Review
Carina Chocano Los Angeles Times 01/22/2020
Exuding a vaguely familiar, sincere, almost old-fashioned air, right down to its just-the-facts title, the new drama feels sturdy and reliable, if by and large unremarkable. Go to Full Review
Rachel Sklar Chicago Tribune 01/22/2020
Less about the law than the backroom political dealings of a Machiavellian district attorney, there's plenty of drama wrapped up in the interoffice intrigue of competing political agendas. Go to Full Review

[Steven] Weber's Franks is an interesting anti-hero, but the makers of the series evidently felt the audience needed a thorough good guy to stand up to the D.A. and prick his conscience. Go to Full Review
Tom Jicha South Florida Sun-Sentinel 01/22/2020
The new legal drama is intelligently written, complex but not confounding. The characters are vividly drawn and multi-dimensional, heroic yet deeply flawed. Go to Full Review
Joanne Weintraub Honolulu Star-Advertiser 01/22/2020
Its above-average actors are cast shrewdly and entertainingly against type. Go to Full Review
