Eric B @EricB10 Jan 1 Well, if it wasn't for the terrible acting of Nancy Addison-Altman and negligent directing of E.W. Swackhamer, I'd give this film a higher rating. Watching her was like watching a beginning actor, and he was responsible for casting her and not saving her performance. This film was stylistically over-the-top somewhat, so it needed mature actors to know how to play these roles without making them cartoonish. Coburn was Coburn, i.e., terrific, Straight and Miller, a couple other well-known supporting actors were good and the rest of the supporting class did their jobs competently. But Swackhamer clearly did not know how to get in there and keep actors from hurting themselves with bad acting, or give dutiful actors just following direction, better direction. But Coburn is strong, carrying this film ably. Too bad he had to carry a terrible actress in a central roll, and the kind of director who can be his - and the actors - their worst enemy.
