The comedy series follows the lives of the residents of a small mountain town as they deal with tourists and visitors. The main cast of Season 1 includes Wilfred (Charlie Robinson), who runs a guest house, Andrew (Garret Dillahaunt), a divorced doctor hoping to put his family back together, Kimberly (Kellie Martin), a traffic cop wishing for romance, and Vivian (Carly Jibson) and her stepson Frank (Lou Wilson), who run a strip club. As outsiders come and go, they get caught up in the craziness of the residents, often resulting in trouble.

It's a layered, twisted structure as complicated as the intermingled plot twists of Curb Your Enthusiasm or Arrested Development. And yes, Guest Book deserves mention in that same company.

The show lives and dies on the strength of its episode-to-episode stories. A few of them are entertaining enough, but a show that's still in search of its strengths still keeps it from being a reliable trip worth taking every week.
