The detective gets involved in a murder case and, despite everyone thinking the case is solved, he persists and persists to find out what others don’t know. That format works for season one, but subsequent seasons follow the exact format—and it’s a bit boring. You know they’re going to get eight episodes out of each season, and the plots get convoluted to stretch it out. Acting is good, but after the first season, you know the way it’s going to go. See more Marco B @Mbhshs May 18 it's hard to review this season. there's a slow and chaotic part that turns on itself and then there's a part where everything evolves, changes intensity and pushes on the emotional side. despite the lack of a real co-protagonist and despite the feeling of detachment from the first and second season this fourth season still succeeds in its intent and closes the circle. Ambrose seems less conflicted and the story line seemed to focus more on the twists and turns of an investigation. But then the story line seemed to fall into the same cookie cutter pattern. Death of someone, investigation, solving the murder... but wait, not yet solved, investigate some more cuz a few questions are not answered, Ambrose is kicked off the investigation but still continues his pursuit, solution found, the end.
