I loved the development given to the two best friends of our main human girl, Mari, this episode would actually work perfectly if you watched it like a short film / OVA / single episode anime. It basically just focused entirely around the two childhood friends of the main human girl (Mari). It showed Mari’s bond with them, their struggles and how one of them had parental issues, which was connected to the reason that Mari's best friends were being discriminatory towards the furries / beastkin in this setting, and it worked on developing the friends and showing how they worked through / past their discrimination, not through being told to, but instead purely on their willpower they changed themselves. That was so inspiring! This episode was so good, it honestly reminded me of another different shojo manga than this one: Kimi ni Todoke. It's funny as both that series and this one have the title Kimi. I'm so for real. This was seriously so good, it works perfectly as a standalone episode. And it didn't have any... licking scene in it at all, so for people who are bothered by those wolf instinct / licking scenes, this episode is a perfect watch because it doesn't have any of that, it is just wholesome and perfect as a short story about the main girl’s two friends and their development and also their yuri-coded bond. Episode 3 felt like a perfect little short film. You should watch it... oh my gosh, as someone who dealt with parents that were like this (though maybe not as extreme as her parents), this episode and their bond just hit so hard.
