Ramses Jimenez

A native of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, Ramses Jimenez broke into the public consciousness in a big way with his role in the cult series "Fear the Walking Dead." After moving to Chicago as a child, he began his acting career with a small part in the Windy City set drama "Boricua" (2004). A larger role in Jaime Mariscal's indie drama "Welcome Back to the Barrio" (2006) followed. After a series of smaller roles, including an uncredited part in the blockbuster "The Dark Knight" (2008), Jimenez starred in "Nothing Like the Holidays" with John Leguizamo and Debra Messing. A string of television guest star appearances in shows like "Law & Order" (NBC, 1990-2010) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (CBS, 2000-15) followed. His profile jumped significantly when he signed on to play Hector Reyes in "Fear the Walking Dead." The character appeared during the show's second season, fighting off zombies at a beachside hotel. With a degree in film, Jimenez has also worked behind the scenes on various productions. Most notably, he was one of the co-creators on "Zoe Saldana Presents My Hero" (AOL, 2014), which featured the namesake actress, a fellow Dominican native, as she helped other celebrities recognize those who inspired them. As an actor, he earned a role on the network crime drama "Wisdom of the Crowd" (CBS, 2017-18), starring Jeremy Piven. Jimenez then nabbed a recurring role on "Vida" (Starz, 2018-), about a pair of sisters in East Los Angeles struggling through the aftermath of their mother's sudden death. He returned to the big screen with a part in Drew Pearce's "Hotel Artemis" (2018), opposite Sterling K. Brown, Dave Bautista, and Jodie Foster.
