Laura Marling
When one hears that Laura Marling is the daughter of a gentleman of peerage, Sir Charles William Somerset Marling, one might assume she was simply to the manor born. But her father ran a recording studio, and her childhood was a bohemian mass of cable wires, guitar lessons and tutelage in the finer points of Neil Young's catalog. Marling was a musical original, carving a place for herself in the UK "nu-folk" movement.
