Editor Rick Blue broke into television in 1992, cutting the made-for-TV movie "Live! From Death Row," a crime thriller centered on a convicted killer's desperate last effort to save his own life - by kidnapping a TV news crew. That same year he edited his first film, a low budget thriller called "The Silencer." Three years later he took on editorial duties on the miniseries "500 Nations," and made his way to cutting sitcoms the following year, editing an episode of the short-lived "Party Girl." In 1998, he cut the documentary "In Search of Kundun with Martin Scorsese" and became a regular editor on "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place," a popular comedy series that starred Ryan Reynolds. In 2002, he became one of the main editors of the hospital dramedy "Scrubs," on which he became so familiar with the show's form that he stepped up to direct episodes in 2006. After the award-winning series wrapped, Blue returned to documentary films with "Reconciliation."
