Valentin Merlet

The first screen credit for actor Valentin Merlet was a small supporting role in "La Cérémonie" (1995), a noir from master Claude Chabrol. He continued to perform on screen in French cinemas, but wouldn't get any further international exposure until he played a supporting role in Bernardo Bertolucci's period drama "The Dreamers" (2003). The film followed an American in Paris, befriended by a French brother and sister on the eve of the 1968 Paris student riots. Merlet premiered in the French series "Enquêtes réservées"(France 3, 2009-2013). He was a series regular on the show, playing a police officer in high crime Marseille. In 2017, he was again in the international spotlight as a recurring character on "The Tunnel" (Sky Atlantic/Canal+, 2013-) following the multi-national investigations that occur in conjunction with the tunnel connecting England and France.
