Reminders of Him (2026) 56% 3.5/5 EDIT “Maika Monroe shines in this bittersweet adaptation of the novel about a woman who made a terrible mistake returning to her unwelcoming hometown to chase redemption.” – The Film Yap Mar 11, 2026 Full Review Kokuho (2025) 93% 4/5 EDIT “Two actors spend decades vying for attention and affection as kabuki players in this visually sumptuous Oscar-nominated drama from Japan.” – The Film Yap Mar 10, 2026 Full Review Diane Warren: Relentless (2024) 83% 4/5 EDIT “It would be the height of irony if the legendary songwriter finally won the Oscar for Best Song -- on the 17th try! -- for the documentary about her extraordinary life and career.” – The Film Yap Mar 8, 2026 Full Review Hoppers (2026) 93% 3.5/5 EDIT “A mildly amusing animated romp from Disney that borrows heavily from other movies as a teen eco-activist goes undercover as a robot beaver to save her grandma's glade.” – The Film Yap Mar 6, 2026 Full Review Sirāt (2025) 90% 4/5 EDIT “This Oscar-nominated trek through the desert is an oddly affecting exploration of people who are lost -- some by choice, while others quest to reunite with those who may not want to be found.” – The Film Yap Mar 4, 2026 Full Review Viva Verdi! (2024) 100% 4.5/5 EDIT “A superlative Oscar-nominated look at a home in Italy for retired musicians, where the passion for life is undiminished even as voices and bodies may falter.” – The Film Yap Mar 3, 2026 Full Review To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) 93% 5/5 EDIT “Looking back on one of the finest adaptations of one of the best books ever written, which also marked the film debut of the late -- and truly great -- Robert Duvall.” – The Film Yap Mar 2, 2026 Full Review Scream 7 (2026) 31% 3.5/5 EDIT “Some good gore and thrills, and it's nice to see a lot of the old gang trotted out again, though the franchise is starting to show its creaky knees.” – The Film Yap Feb 28, 2026 Full Review Dreams (2025) 52% 1.5/5 EDIT “Oscar-winning actress Jessica Chastain slums in this impotent erotic thriller about a privileged woman using a poor immigrant dancer as her plaything.” – The Film Yap Feb 25, 2026 Full Review Cutting Through Rocks (2025) 100% 4/5 EDIT “An indelible portrait of a singularly scrappy, stubborn woman determined to force change in her deeply patriarchal Iranian village.” – The Film Yap Feb 24, 2026 Full Review Midwinter Break (2026) 58% 4/5 EDIT “World-class acting by Lesley Manville and Ciarán Hinds undergirds this restrained look at a marriage teetering toward its finish.” – The Film Yap Feb 20, 2026 Full Review Jane Austen's Period Drama (2024) 4.5/5 EDIT “A one-joke movie, but dang if it's not a great joke well executed. A cheeky, smart, hilarious take on British period dramas in which menstruation is the double entendre subject. ” – The Film Yap Feb 18, 2026 Full Review Two People Exchanging Saliva (2024) 2.5/5 EDIT “Quite possibly the Most French movie ever. Pretentious codswallop. ” – The Film Yap Feb 18, 2026 Full Review Butcher's Stain (2025) 4.5/5 EDIT “A stunning look at the costs of war beyond the battlefield, urgently set against the backdrop of the strife in Gaza.” – The Film Yap Feb 18, 2026 Full Review A Friend of Dorothy (2025) 4/5 EDIT “A sweet parable about seeing and being seen, as an old woman befriends a young man who dreams of more than his humble roots.” – The Film Yap Feb 18, 2026 Full Review The Singers (2026) 4/5 EDIT “A simple, lovely little slice of humanity. A bunch of dead-end guys in a bar start a singing contest, and find a bit of hope.” – The Film Yap Feb 18, 2026 Full Review Retirement Plan (2024) 4/5 EDIT “Domhnall Gleason narrates this humorous meditation on aging and self improvement.” – The Film Yap Feb 18, 2026 Full Review Butterfly (2024) 4.5/5 EDIT “A lovely, understated piece loosely based on the life of French swimmer Alfred Nakache.” – The Film Yap Feb 18, 2026 Full Review The Girl Who Cried Pearls (2025) 4.5/5 EDIT “An achingly beautiful, sad story told largely through puppetry.” – The Film Yap Feb 18, 2026 Full Review Forevergreen (2025) 4/5 EDIT “Absolutely gorgeous animation style, using CGI but resembling a chunky sort of stop-motion. A gentle, spiritual lesson.” – The Film Yap Feb 18, 2026 Full Review The Three Sisters (2024) 3.5/5 EDIT “A very spare, hand-drawn animation style, humorous and observant.” – The Film Yap Feb 18, 2026 Full Review Children No More: Were and Are Gone (2025) EDIT “A humanistic look at a troubling crisis that eschews moral certitude. ” – The Film Yap Feb 17, 2026 Full Review All the Empty Rooms (2025) 3/5 EDIT “On the surface it’s a powerful subject: journalists who talk to the parents of children killed in school shootings and record photographs of their bedrooms. I’m an old-school believer in "don’t report on the reporting," and there’s too much of that here.” – The Film Yap Feb 17, 2026 Full Review Armed Only With a Camera: The Life and Death of Brent Renaud (2025) 4/5 EDIT “A moving portrait of photojournalist and documentarian Brent Renaud, killed while covering the early days of the war in Ukraine in 2022.” – The Film Yap Feb 17, 2026 Full Review The Devil Is Busy (2024) 4/5 EDIT “A powerful but decidedly partisan look at the abortion issue from the inside of a women’s health clinic in Georgia. Illuminates in a way I think those who made it aren’t even aware of.” – The Film Yap Feb 17, 2026 Full Review
