The Rip (2026) 80% 2.5/4 EDIT “Let’s cut to the chase. If you like hard-bitten crime and cop genre B-movies with an extra heaping of all the clichés, you’ll dig The Rip.” – Washington Post Jan 16, 2026 Full Review Train Dreams (2025) 95% 3.5/4 EDIT “This meditation on life is a 102-minute respite from a world that never gives us a chance to slow down and realize how beautiful it truly is. ” – Washington Post Nov 6, 2025 Full Review Frankenstein (2025) 85% 2.5/4 EDIT “Visually, the film is a sumptuous feast.” – Washington Post Oct 24, 2025 Full Review Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh (2018) 90% EDIT “Why it's good might be illuminating: It relies on nothing but Sandler's absurdist observations, and puerile humor distilled in short parody songs that can't help but worm their way into your head.” – Washington Post Oct 26, 2018 Full Review Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) 47% 1.5/4 EDIT “It commits the worst possible sin: It makes dinosaurs boring.” – Washington Post Jun 20, 2018 Full Review Boy and the World (2013) 93% 9.1/10 EDIT “With its simple animation, we see the world from a different vantage point, one that accesses the heart more than the brain and leaves a wordless film with quite a lot to say.” – Paste Magazine Dec 21, 2015 Full Review A Year and Change (2015) 4.1/10 EDIT “Overstuffed and convoluted.” – Paste Magazine Dec 3, 2015 Full Review 6.2/10 EDIT “In Yosemite, life might be difficult, confusing and painful. But it also never really seems worth living” – Paste Magazine Apr 2, 2015 Full Review We Gotta Get Out of This Place (2013) 80% 7.2/10 EDIT “Bad Turn Worse isn't bad, it's simply generic, but it owns its genre with such swagger one can't help but look forward to seeing these actors, directors and writer in action again.” – Paste Magazine Nov 21, 2014 Full Review A Coffee in Berlin (2012) 77% 7.7/10 EDIT “Berlin is gorgeously shot in black and white and scored with loose, atmospheric jazz as Niko wanders from one seemingly unrelated event to another.” – Paste Magazine Jun 19, 2014 Full Review This Is Not a Ball (2014) 6.2/10 EDIT “There is a fantastic documentary within This Is Not a Ball, begging to burst onto the screen. As a result, the film is worth it for the touching moments, though more fully realized explorations on poverty and the means of escape it already exist.” – Paste Magazine Jun 12, 2014 Full Review
