Diandre R @RT53139537 May 16 This was not a bad movie. However, my biggest problem is the ending. You don’t know if they won or not, and it feels like there’s no real payoff. The whole movie builds up to that event, and then you don’t even get the result. I don’t care if they confess their love — I wanted to know if they actually won. This movie felt older then the 90s and was limited in set, which overall makes sense but I think it could have had potential if they shot some scenes elsewhere. This honestly feels like a made-for-TV movie. The editing, cinematography, and acting all feel a little lower in quality. I can’t decide if Moira Kelly was comically entertaining in her role as a bratty skater or if she is overacting. Meanwhile, D.B. Sweeney skates along in his stock hockey jock role. And while you see the characters practicing a lot, you don’t get to see much of the actual programs, which is strange. The Cutting Edge receives an average grade of execution from me.
