Technically sleek but narratively weightless, it relies on visual wizardry to distract from a bare-bones story. The film opens with long, beautiful shots and an impressive sense of spatial immersion — then spends the next hour dragging out an extremely thin plot with endless close-ups of Sandra Bullock breathing. The setup is stronger than the payoff. Once the tension wears off, whats left is a hollow journey through increasingly implausible obstacles. It's not profound, it's not moving — it's just long. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney , the astronauts on shuttle mission, are faced with several challenges to simply survive as well as tasked with attempting to get back to earth in the mist of all sorts of chaos. Please watch this on the biggest screen you have with the best sound system you can use. There is a grandness to this movie that can only be experienced watching in that format. This may seem like a short movie but it’s perfect, nothing is dragged on. The movie is punchy and very effective. Think of taking any movie and keeping only its best parts, that is this movie, literally every scene is just as important and deliberate. This movie will make you feel and test your emotions very well. Also the sound track is phenomenal which left me with goosebumps. Yes the story might be a little on the simple side but that’s exactly what makes it good. Taking a simple concept and perfecting it is what this movie did. Movies like this are rare and my words can’t do enough justice. This is genuinely a crafted masterpiece that everyone, regardless of whether you are a space or thriller enthusiasts or not, needs to watch.
