This movie takes the everyday relatable frustrations of our life when dealing with assholes and plunges into a crazy bloody vigilante rabbit hole adventure from the likes of “The Big Lebowski”. Melanie Lynskey and Elijah Wood have terrific chemistry and share great comedic timing and likability. You really buy their friendship despite all the oddities they encounter. It’s nice seeing the two of them work together again after their amazing voicework in “Over the Garden Wall”. The movie covers mature themes of finding good and bad faith in humanity, coping with how small and insignificant your place in the world may feel, depression, alcoholism, vigilantism vs bureaucratic complacency, sour nepotism, and persevering with hope for a better future.
