Movie Info

This exceptional campus drama, rich in authentic atmosphere and genuine excitement, centers upon a college freshman. What he lacks in academic prowess, he makes up for in prowess with the pretty coeds. He joins the rowing team, but is a dreadful oarsman and causes his team to lose the big race. Humiliated and discouraged, he contemplates leaving until his father offers a rousing speech and inspires him to return and try again. The following year, he manages to get on the second string football team. During the final Big Game with their arch rival, Yale, he is sent in. Unfortunately, he injures his leg and must limp off the field listening to the jeers of the crowd calling him a quitter. He vindicates himself in the last quarter when he returns to the field and wins the game.
