Curd Jurgens plays it straight - perfectly to annoy the character of Orson Welles who does a pretty good job as the funny-man, for what is mainly a comedy, and most of it is family friendly until the final couple of scenes.
Nothing much on offer really. The main idea is quite interesting but that's not the case with the film's execution, or the story's evolution for that matter. Mark Conrad is an interesting character and Jurgens is a fitting choice to portray him, yet the whole experience remains pretty unrewarding on all levels: action, romance, humour or drama.
