Gloria (Sybil Jason) is the young daughter of a man (Addison Richards) who, due to a debt to gangsters, is shot dead after dining with friends Steve (Robert Armstrong) and Mortimer (Edward Everett Horton). Steve and Mortimer take Gloria under their wing, with help from Jean (Glenda Farrell), who works in their hotel. After his own run-ins with the criminal underworld, Steve finds that he's put Gloria in danger. The spunky girl, though, proves to be more resourceful than he expected.
