Mortal Kombat II learned from quite a few of the issues the first film had. It swapped out protagonists for one with a flashier personality, better replicated the game's elements and structure... but it still has issues.

Just indulgent enough to satisfy the hardcore fans, and exhausting for everyone else. Its daft pleasures are evident, if overegged, resulting in some blood-drunk amusement that eventually turns into dizzied CTE.

Surprisingly had a decent time. The writing isn’t something to take too seriously as it is unapologetic about its campiness and rushes into the story quite a bit in the beginning. Once it gets going though, it sure as heck is full of dumb fun! If you’re looking for a “turn your brain off” fun ride with some cool fight scenes and fatalities, you’ll have a good time.
