05/15/2019 A very unique story, with a unexpected twist that made me cry like a baby, it is the best filipino movie I've seen so far. See more 07/12/2018 This movie was a very pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting much but it honestly was exactly what I needed. I struggle with anxiety and I was actually looking for a distraction when I put this on. It not only distracted me but made me smile. Like Abi says in the movie. All you have to do is smile. It provided me with a lot of perspective, which was what I needed, just like burns. Mental illness really is a serious issue and I felt this movie walked the very thin line between being informative and entertaining without being too triggering. There are triggers for those struggling with mental illness but it's a story of redemption inspite of it. The movie teaches us to focus on the now and the people we love. To recognize if we have a problem and to not be afraid to seek help. This movie was indeed an informative and entertaining ride. I cannot recommend it enough. Gerald brought his acting game and Pia astonishes us with her innocence and positivity. This movie deserves all the praises. Direc Cathy doesn't disappoint as usual and even teaches us that we all deserve second chances. Recommend to everyone. See more 05/15/2018 Awesome love story. It will make you fall in love amd all sorts of wonderful feeling despite of the seriousness of the plot. The lines thrown by Burn and Abi are so inspiring and so relatable. I havr never been so entertained, laughed and fell in love at thr same time in onr movie. Awesome. See more 05/14/2018 My Perfect You is one of the worst Filipino movie of 2018. The film is about a man who tries to run away from his problems. He then got car accident in a remote place. He meet a woman then they fall in love. The acting and cinematography are excellent. Gerald Anderson is at best here but the one big problem of this film is the twist. ***SPOILER*** It turns out that Burn (Gerald Anrderson) has schizophrenia then everything happen after the accident is just not real. The film has potential if it choose to get dark and dig more on a mental illness. What end up is unrealistic and awful third act. See more 04/27/2018 I have watched so many Filipino RomComs and this movie has now found itself in my top 5. I love how it seems like your typical love story but it really wasn't. I salute the director, actors and story writer for creating such a beautiful masterpiece. Everything is connected together splendidly. It took me on a journey of laughter, tears, and self-reflection. Burn (Gerald) is your typical main character who has a dark, painful backstory. He then ends up at Happy Sunshine Camp where he meets Abi (Pia) - the most energetic girl who gives an all-out service and makes you pay the fee with a smile. I loved the cinematography and how beautiful the scenery was. There was plenty of corny, funny and kilig moments which ends up with them loving each other. Then the plot twist happened. This is where I was in awe of Gerald's acting skills and wished I had more tissues. I love how it ends the same way it started and completes a full circle. You realise the hidden links, foreshadowing and the meaning of the title. I left the movie theatre full of hope. This movie highlights social issues and the fact that everyone has their own problems but shouldn't give up. :) PS Thank you for taking the time to read my long review. See more 04/08/2018 " My Perfect You" is actually a nice movie! I have just been to Hoyts Carousel to watch the first full length movie of Miss Universe - Pia Wurtzbach, and I found it a nice movie. She acted well, and was natural. Gerard of course has been trained well by his studio and is the right man to take on the places of the likes of Filipino leading men such as John Loyd Cruz, Piolo Pascual ( as they age into more elderly roles), and is easy on the eyes, to which the director- Cathy Molina took good advantage of. Initially, I was ready for a light romantic Comedy movie, but it had a serious twist that tackled a never shown in Filipino films ( to my knowledge anyway) topic on depression -Schizophrenia. As for Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, she luminates on screen, and definitely commanded attention with her doe eyes, and perfect beauty title-holder body. I say she should be given the previous role of another Miss Universe winner- Ms Gloria Diaz and do a remake of " Ang Pinaka Magandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa!" Catch the movie if you can. 3.5 stars See more Read all reviews
