In the current atmosphere of rising conservatism and religious extremism, was it really possible to have a film which would talk up the ills attached to religious practices? Oh My God does this, and we commend the film for its subject and treatment. Go to Full Review

A delightfully amusing, clever and also progressive and daring satire with a strong Paresh Rawal and hilarious Akshay Kumar. It loses a bit of momentum towards the end, but overall, it’s still a movie well worth checking out. Go to Full Review

OMG walks a fine line between sermonizing and entertaining and has long patches of super-preachy kitsch. Yet the subject is so compelling that you come out with a smile on your face and perhaps a decision to open up your holy text. Go to Full Review

Shukla's fable takes its sweet time getting off the ground but ultimately proves to be an utterly adorable, nicely humanistic riff on the role of religion in an everyman's life. Go to Full Review

Nilay P @Stalwart 3d Sheds light on an important issue surrounding blind faith and superstition. The film raises a question about whether society is God-loving or God-fearing. It also highlights how certain self-proclaimed "godmen" exploit religion and people’s beliefs for personal gain. While the film primarily targets practices within Hinduism, its broader message about questioning superstition and organized exploitation of faith remains significant and relevant. The satirical tone works well, offering a sharp critique of religion, society, and blind belief systems. The acting performances are strong. However, a few scenes feel unnecessary. For eg, the scene where Rawal’s character goes to a shop to buy idols comes across as somewhat forced and in poor taste, and it doesn’t add much to the narrative. Overall, despite a few questionable moments, Oh My God! remains a thought-provoking and engaging film that is definitely worth watching. It has a groundbreaking script, brilliant performances and some well written dialogue. All in all, a must watch. The movie does do a pretty good job of covering a lot of social topics and I thought Paresh Rawal is good in the lead role. The movie is definitely smart but I wasn't always entertained by it. I did feel that it dragged, particularly in the second half. However, I was fairly engaged with it and felt okay with watching it one time. I think the film "PK" from 2014 explores some similar topics in a far more entertaining way and I can't help compare the two because they feel so similar. This is an acceptable satirical story with solid messages at its center. See more Read all reviews
