War!!! What is it good for??
I was expecting this movie to be the same. And happily, I was proved incorrect. though it will never live up to Rush Hour, and 2 was a bit disappointing, 3 returns more strongly and I was happy with the turn out, though I guess I wanted to see more fireworks between Carter and Lee's relationship, it was quite mild. But then again, I thought the laughs were great and the liners well delivered, from the YU and MI segment right to the end. The beginning was hilarious, where Tucker is directing traffic and dancing, the guy is a great comedian.
The stunts and action.... pretty tame. thats where the let down is, but I guess jackie is getting old. Face it people, he's 53, time to move on. Its amazing what he can still do at this age, but 10 years prior he would be doing these stunts in his sleep, 20 years earlier he would be falling off a 5 storey building with no lines and landing cushion at the bottom.
I guess its another reminder that Jackie is not as young as he used to be. Sighs*
But at least he got to showcase the other talent which he is well known for in Asia - his singing. XD!! - and yeah, he can sing pretty well, just not in english. XD!!!
Other than that, a bald lady, Chinese guys who speak french and NOT chinese, an adoptive brother and the Exorcist Dude (Max von Sydow) and it does move at a good pace.
Forget all the plot and development and all that crap, just watch it for the fun of it, and Brett ratner had the good sense to just let the movie flow then try a build up or make it complex, this is all for fun and thats the way its meant to be treated as.
