I did not think this movie was very good at all. It adds very little to a tired genre quite frankly. How many times can you do the same type of 'long black haired dead girl haunting people who wronged her' before you realize that it's just not working anymore? There's just nothing remotely interesting about this movie, I have a hard time remembering shit as it is and I just watched this yesterday. It has one of those ambiguous endings that you just don't care to figure out because the movie is just no good, so it's no use to waste time on shit that doesn't really matter. And realistically, this movie is far more boring than it is bad (if such a thing makes sense) but I just had a complete feeling of apathy watching this. Go watch Ringu...or the remake. Those are the only two good films of its type, that I've seen at least. I think Shutter (THE ORIGINAL for fuck's sake...the remake was an abortion unto GOD) is a good movie, but nowhere near that quality. Long story short, don't waste your time watching this goddamn movie.

japan does this a lot, and this is a welcome adition, a young japanes ghostly girl haunting and killing, a young girl haunted by this, through a memory she cant get to. typically theres haunting moments that work well, and film runs smoothly, with a sense of atmosphere throughout, everyone knows the ring, or the the grudge and there american remakes, but should certainly check out other efforts like this

More of the same.. korean ghost story with revenge as the central theme. However, this one starts out a bit confusing and flatlines before the story really picks up and becomes a bit more in focus. Of course there is the standard obligatory twist at the end, and one final turn to leave the view wondering. This film is short on real jumps and chills, but the story does provide plenty of opaque and head scratching scenes to compensate..just not in a good way. For once I would like to finish watching a movie and know what really happened...am I asking for too much?

The Ghost (aka Ryeong) is a restrained, thoughtfully plotted K-Horror that's sort of a cross between Ringu and Ghost Voice (aka The Voice), but a lot less derivative than that sounds. It invokes the usual long black-haired ghosties and heavy use of water (echoes of Dark Water), but the film is more concerned with atmosphere and the nature of identity than cheap scares or sudden screeches on the soundtrack (which it admittedly has its share of). An assured debut from Kim Tae-kyeong and a superb lead performance from Kim Ha-Neul.
