Movie Info

Shadow of the Eagle was one of several Mascot serials starring a raw-boned young John Wayne. In this 12-episode endeavor, Wayne plays a former air ace who now works for a carnival. There's a skywriting criminal known as "The Eagle" who has been sending threatening messages to the executives of a large corporation, and Wayne is suspected of being the airborne extortionist. Most sharp-eyed viewers will catch on during the first episode that the genuine villain is one of the executives, but since Wayne bears a grudge against the corporation, it's fun to toy with the notion that The Duke might really be a bad guy. The mystery, what there is of it, is solved with the aid of Wayne's faithful girlfriend Dorothy Gulliver.more

A typical action serial from Mascot, that held my interest only because of John Wayne.
