Speed is both a reminder of the pleasures of well-done mindlessness and graceful evidence that Hollywood's newest generation of talent can play the box office game if and when it wants to. Go to Full Review

A perfect marriage of concept, cast and execution. The proof of its success is that even though it may feel like it's been left behind by time, action flicks today owe an undisputed debt to what the movie achieved. Go to Full Review

Matthew F. @QuentinTarenVino Mar 12 90s action to its fullest. From start to finish. Cheesy dialogue, every scenario is life threatening over and over. Prime Keanu bad a$$-ness. See more Rich L. @turnerfan77 Mar 11 Speed is one of my favorite 90’s action movies. You can close your eyes and just listen to the score and dialogue and know what decade it’s from and that’s not a bad thing. This movie screams 90’s. Young Keanu and young Bullock have great chemistry and it’s a shame Reeves didn’t come back for the sequel. The premise of the movie of the bus not going below 50 mph gets ridiculous at times and even eye rolling like the bridge jump but it’s all forgivable cause this movie is just so much fun! This one still holds up for me and I am glad I gave it a rewatch. I did watch the 4k disc and it had a great transfer and a definite upgrade from the bluray. THERE'S A BOMB ON BOARD BUS NUMBER 2525! Once the bus goes above 50 mph the bomb activates. After said bus goes below 50 mph it detonates. A rollercoaster ride to save the hostage and climaxes with a chase of the bomber; who is a former police officer trying to get retribution for his dismissal following losing his thumb in the line of duty. See more Mathew H. @mahops Feb 26 I rewatched for the first time in two decades. The movie still holds up after all this time, the acting of Dennis Hopper Keanu Reeves and Jeff Daniels was phenomenal. I had to go four and a half Stars instead of five, only because of the bus jumping scene was wild... this giant bus rocket ships itself off of a flat surface with a distance Evel Knievel wouldn't touch and everybody remained in their seats upon landing, all well maintaining that 50 mph speed.
