If we are to treat it seriously, which is what the documentary seemingly wants us to do, it has a very flawed methodology, a laughable sample size, and a research question whose answer was already very well established; what a waste of time and resources. See more Nicholas t @nicktalbert2025 Oct 31 super size me is a good film movie the guy eats lots of mc burgers and chicken and cokes and water and eat breakfast at mc in the movie See more Rose G @RT19462719 Sep 4 I was shown this documentary as a kid, and I was enganged and entertained throughout the entire runtime, which allowed me to let down my guard and be taught the lesson that fast food is bad for you and you should try to limit the amount of it that you eat regularly. Which is such a difficult thing to actually teach kids, and most people who try come across as mean adults who want you to stop having fun. But not this movie. It approached me where I was as a kid, entertained me and enganged me with its fun bits and jokes and animation, and in between them snuck in the lesson that fast food, and especially places like McDonalds are bad for you, and are doing everything they can to trick your brain into thinking it likes their food. Put simply, because of this film it has been many years since I ate McDonalds, and the last time I did I absolutely hated it. It didn't taste like food, it tasted like chemicals trying to manipulate my brain into liking it. Now, when I occasionally want to have something fast and cheap and bad for me - as a bit of a cheat - I go for local alternatives whose food isn't loaded with salt and sugar and MSG, which quite frankly is better for my health and the local community, and I attribute that, in no small part, to this movie being show to me as a kid. So, whether it taught this lesson in the most well-researched manor is quite frankly unimportant to me. What is important is that it managed to teach the lesson to kids, where so many other documentaries and teachers and parents - despite their efforts - didn't.
