Espósito is quite convincing as the main character: in some instances, she seems fragile; at other times, manipulative traits surface, and with them the possibility that she could be a very good liar.

Dolores is impassive, giving away nothing. The ambiguity may be dramatically unsatisfying, but that is the point. We become the viewers of that television show. Guilty or innocent, it's left to us to decide.

Beyond showing that an entire country will have an opinion on a court case they vaguely follow in papers and on TV, The Accused offers surprisingly little in terms of analysis, insight or even irony.
