Movie Info

When a bridge collapses, killing several people in 18th-century Peru, we flash back through their various lives and experiences leading up to the disaster. This first filming of Thornton Wilder's novel, remade in 1945, was shot silent, then jerry-rigged with dialogue sequences at the beginning and end.
