A well done Russian 60's comedy involving slap stick humor and a voyage to Istanbul. A good choice for when you want something to mellow out with.
Such a gem of USSR cinematography.
One of the best examples of great comedy made at Soviet time.
Fun Soviet-era Russian comedy dealing with jewel smugglers and mistaken identity. Very much rooted in the late 60's. I'm sure much of the verbal humor does not translate well, but it is still fun to watch. (It is apparently one of the top Russian comedies of all time.)
Pirma karta matau taip gerai vaidinant girtus zmones. Siaip nelabai ka cia ir prikomentuosi, patiko! Vien aktoriu naturalios mimikos, absurdiskos situacijos, charakteriai ziauriai juokino.
Funny..., so damn funny..., Chort poberi.... & that sets you for a great story.
a great masterpiece of Russian musical comedy in 60s. very witty!
to fully appreciate it you need a (near) perfect grasp of Russian language and culture; prolonged exposure to eastbound-of-the-Iron-Curtain cliches doesn't hurt either. it is a loud and yet, a subtle satire of the largest social experiment of the 20th century - a.k.a. "malenkaya tehnicheskaya neuvyazka"
Very funny, crazy premise. Definitely watch the subtitled version. The dub changes too much and loses a lot of the humor.
Bali Schmali. It's all about Russkiewood!
