Pattinson has fun channeling Roddy McDowell’s snarky performance in "Cleopatra." But like that epic flop, "The Odyssey" takes itself too seriously. The film ultimately sinks under its bleakness like a lead balloon. Go to Full Review

Instead of being an answer to our prayers, The Odyssey ends up being just another reason for despair. Go to Full Review

For the two solid hours in which it’s set piece after set piece -- without a thematic thread or fresh vision -- I didn’t much care, but by the end, [Matt Damon's] portrayal of a man broken by the years he’s lost, and the men he’s lost, proves moving. Go to Full Review

While not as tight as his other three-hour epic, Oppenheimer, The Odyssey remains a stunning achievement of vision and scale that works on both a spectacle and a human level, living up to its hype and then some. Go to Full Review

The Odyssey is an almost textbook example of Nolan’s formidable strengths and perennial weaknesses... [but overall] it’s a staggering work of robust, tactile filmmaking. Go to Full Review

Nick V @Perseus424 18m As a movie it's okay. It's like going to dune and getting star Wars: It's not the odyssey. Characteristically bad dialogue for Nolan movies. Visually okayish. See more Nikolas G @RT23568189 22m Felt like Monty Python with how much they ran away. Dialogue, costuming, and acting felt too modern for a Greek epic. A lot of telling instead of showing. Very beautiful show though with great sets and practical effects. Not a great adaptation of the Odyssey when they strip almost all the mythological elements from the historical mythology . See more Franklin C @RT39814329 22m Another banger from Christopher Nolan. Definitely worth watching even if you haven’t read the story. Casting was pretty decent. The sailing scenes are really cool. See more Revolution Repair T @cellachjery 35m I have read the odyssey countless of and got my masters degree in classical studies because I loved the book so much, this movie captures of what Homer was conveying in his poetic words. Nolan did a fabulous job of bringing the story to life and creating a visual for the story See more Ibrahim S @RT58361799 36m This is hands down Nolan’s best work to date! This movie is everything you expected it to be: loud, spacious, heartbreaking, action-filled, and extremely well written! Everyone nailed their part quite well. The soundtrack was punchy, loud, and bold. The sound and visual effects were top-notch, and most importantly, it didn’t feel like it was 3 hours long at all!  See more John Martin R @RT37486515 38m It was shot very well, but filled with overacting and distracting story cuts.
