Bill T @btreakle 9h “The Rip” This new film from 2026 starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck is a real good uh movie about cops on the take. The action is swift and gut wrenching. This film was well written and produced as well as being directed very well and all the scenes in the movie we're realistic. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised by how restrained it was. Ben and Matt's chemistry is as strong as ever, and the plot keeps you guessing while building genuine suspense. Credit where it's due—this was far better than I expected. See more Ola G @Ollie1972 Jun 21 "The Rip" was inspired by the true story of Miami-Dade County Police Captain Chris Casiano, and tells the story of a group of police officers who, during a raid on a hidden cash operation, find their trust broken down as team members suspect each other of trying to steal a large sum of cash. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon still have chemistry, director Joe Carnahan knows how to create believable action sequences (even if they become overly long in this case at times) and it's a pretty solid film within the genre it belongs to. However, we have seen way too many films about bent cops, the plot twists never seems to end and it's full of clichés and nothing really new under the sun. It´s entertaining during the running time, but you won't remember it once the lights come on. See more Read all reviews
