It a lot darker than the first season, great acting from Jessica Lange! stories have good wisdom in it, I especially like the possessed nun and the evil Santa characters. If you look into it, it has a lot of wisdom and serves almost as a cautionary tale. The heroine is also very inspiring and positive.

This was one #@&ked up season, like butterfly effect I could not watch this again. Nightmare after nightmare, I hated it, and almost made me go a little bit crazy I almost stopped with this season, it was too much human suffering, at least 1984 left you feeling happy on a good ending.

So far, this is the best season in my opinion. So good!!

Absolutely one of the BEST seasons of AHS out there, along with Murder House. Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe's performances are out of this world. Asylum is one of the darkest seasons and imo the scariest as it is set in a 1960's mental hospital, but it is also extremely deep and emotional as it deals with human issues. The only critique I could give is that sometimes I find some episodes dragging on for too long, and there is really no need for the confusing alien plot line. But nevertheless, Asylum is a MUST SEE AHS season for newbies or anyone that fancies a good rewatch. :)

This is a great season. The asylum is a great setting for a horror story and together with some great characters, it leaves for a scary and interesting story. This season can feel a bit over the place at times, but includes some great twists and turns on the way.

Pure, undistilled horror. So much so that I had to watch this one in small doses, as it was often so unpleasant and draining that I could only bear so much at a time. But it all pays off in the end with a spectacular, shocking finale. You just have to slug through hours of human suffering first.

The peak of the series for me, actually a thrill or two, interesting to watch, not played out yet.
  • Apr 18, 2021
Hands down the most well written season of the WHOLE show!! With stellar editing and acting:)

While I liked Murder House for its diverse horror, this one cranks up that mindset to an 11. There are so many different things going on, which means this season is never dull, though it can be a bit incohesive at times. There are still many memorable performances and standout moments, and I often debate between this one and Murder House for which is the best season. This season is excellent.
