Journalist Thomas Morton embarks on what the network calls a "foreign exchange program for subcultures" in this docuseries. In each episode, he embeds himself within the lives of members of a particular group to get a look at life from other people's points of view. Morton becomes immersed in all aspects of the subjects' lives, including their customs, philosophies and habits. Morton's experiences include working as a deckhand on a tugboat and spending the holy month of Ramadan as a member of a Muslim family in Michigan.
