The Mighty Marching Hornets are the marching band at Alabama State University. Even though the school isn't very well-known nationally, the band has developed a bit of fame thanks to work it's done with famous performers, notably Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke. The series profiles the band to show the personal and artistic obstacles the members face as personalities clash. Whether candidates are fighting for the group's top position, head drum major, or facing cuts prior to the first game of the football season, there's always drama behind the music for the Hornets.
