Jer D @RT73386924 Jul 29 I just finished season 6 of Barbecue Brawl and I cannot believe that Brad Leighninger lost to Kyle Bryner! Don't get me wrong, I loved Kyle and his abilities and heart and passion behind what he does. Absolutely his Dad would be proud of him! But when it comes to what real barbecue is, Brad is and was the absolute rock star barbecue pit master this season and he absolutely should have been declared the “Master of Cue.” Every episode Brad dominated the entire season. His cooks represented what real and true barbecue is and not what a bunch of food network cheffy chefs think it should be. Brad's overnight cook was exciting to watch. He has such mastery of his craft. His execution was flawless. His pork ribs were rightfully declared the best ribs of the entire season. His brisket and chicken thighs and everything else were cooked to perfection and moreover represented what real barbecue competition food is. I'm so frustrated by this show. Every season the actual barbecue pit master’s never win. Some have even been the best of the best. Seeing it happen again with Brad's loss in Season 6, I'm sorry I no longer view it as a legitimate barbecue competition in any way. It's just another food network cooking competition show with the word barbecue in the title. And the words "Master of Cue" are well, just that, meaningless words... I had such high hopes watching Season 6 that somehow the judges would do the right thing and declare Brad the winner. Once again though, I was sorely disappointed. Look folks, I don't compete in barbecue but if I did, I would refuse to compete in Barbecue Brawl on principle. It's not credible in any way, shape, or form and when the real pit master’s try to compete they just lend their credibility to a show that will do them dirty. Barbecue Brawl doesn't represent what real barbecue is. It's not judged by real barbecue judges and that's saying something since supposedly Rodney Scott himself has been in the competition barbecue circuit. Rodney however has obviously lost sight of his roots in barbecue and turned to the Darkside of becoming yet another television entertainer. I hope at some point things change for this show but after six seasons of the same ridiculousness, I know all too well not to get my hopes up. See more Remy M @RT07875792 Jul 2 To make this series better they should open by immediately handing Bobby Flay the Bbq trophy to him and his team. Then the other two teams can actually compete and receive objective judging. In season 6 the judging is so ridiculously biased that Maneet and Antonio are criticizing the judges openly—which you do not see either chef do in other cooking competitions. Just like they teach salespeople that the customer is always right, in this competition Flay’s team is always right regardless of their mistakes and misses. See more Read all reviews
