Da Vinci's Demons: Season 2 Photos

Tv Season Info

In Season 2, intrepid adventurer-inventor Leonardo Da Vinci (Tom Riley) travels all over the known world (and some of the not-so-known) in his quest for the mystical Book of Leaves. In the season opener, the Pazzis strike, leaving the fate of Florence in Leonardo's hands. After restoring order to the beset city, Leonardo's quest leads him to attempt a crossing of the Atlantic, needless to say without maps. While he's out of the picture, the Medicis do their best (or worst) to establish themselves. When he reaches the fabled Vault of Heaven, Leonardo is surprised to discover that his mother, too, had once undertaken a mission to find the Book. Upon his return to Florence, he finds an iron-fisted Duke Federico (Vincent Riotta) ruling his subjects, and further bad news appears on the horizon as an armada of Ottoman warships arrives and all of Italy braces for the attack.

Da Vinci's Demons tells a compelling and well-crafted story, with religious drama, political intrigue and a cast of strong characters swirling around Da Vinci, one of the most creative people who ever lived.

Season two of Da Vinci's Demons is going to be an action focused tour through history with the volume amped up to deafening levels. This is going to be one hell of an action packed, if not historically accurate (because Dracula and bazooka), ride.

This felt like a learning season, like they were scraping against their budget and wanted to see how big and wild they could take it. I get the feeling they learned their lessons, and figured out more of the story they want to tell.

Da Vinci's Demons is still a whole heck of a lot of fun -- and for a premium cable period piece airing on a Saturday night, fun is all you can ask for.

Let yourself be swept away into the fantastical world David S. Goyer has created and I guarantee you will enjoy the show.

What it lacked in thematic substance it more than made up for in content and did a great job of building on the energy of the conclusion to Season 1 while also setting up the journey for Season 2.

Once you learn to go with the Da Vinci is a superhero flow, the show is an adventure lover's paradise.

The show returns for a second season that ups the ante on swashbuckling and arcane mythology, while continuing to cleverly use the famed artist/inventor's innovations as a blueprint.

Audience Reviews for Da Vinci's Demons: Season 2

75% The cliffhanger in the finale is good and despite not being boring, the series fails to become interesting beyond a certain point. Its got too much of playfullness and predictability in it. The production design is as good as always.

Who knew how worldly Da Vinci would become in the 2nd season and what possibilities he would encounter. A good step up from season 1 and Paul Rhys is brilliant in his role as Vlad and wouldn't Blake Ritson make a fantastic Moriaty

This Season was again really good - can't wait for the Third Season this year.

amazing drama with great sensation

Season 2 of Starz's Da Vinci's Demons improves upon the first season in a number of ways. It's more stylish, more intriguing, more mysterious, more adventurous, with even better performances from its cast, especially Riley.

Great show more people should watch it.

Horrible. Did he invent "axe" hair products?

Even better than the first season.

At first I was enthusiastic about seeing this. I was only 5 minutes into the first episode when two things occurred: #1, all the characters spoke British English. Curious given that this is set in the 14th century, alas no effort made to preserve any bit of Italian accent. #2, the name Medici (accent on the e), was mispronounced. This is quite a sin for if the writers and accent coaches had the slightest bit of appreciation of the cultural and historical significance of the name and the family. I shut the thing off immediately. Finally the gestures, makeup, etc. was so 21st century.

Love this show well written & acted
