It says a lot about how Legends of Tomorrow has improved that I actually missed the show during its hiatus.
"Left Behind" is the episode where the Legends Of Tomorrow writers realize they can do some crazy things with character development on a time-travelling superhero show.
Be honest: Did you like him as Ra's his first time with the gig on Arrow? Because his guest turn on Legends of Tomorrow still didn't feel impressive or imposing enough to capture the grit and violence of the League of Assassins.
Well, hey, that was actually fun! Yeah, I know. I'm as surprised as you are, I bet.
'Left Behind' was an ambitious and dense episode that explored the dangers and physical toll that time travel exacts... It was a strong return from a show that now seems to know exactly where it is going.
What may be the series' best episode yet leaves our heroes with newly reinvigorated limbs and relationships, and a course is charted for the only place that Hunter knows for certain he can find Vandal Savage at this point in the adventure: The future.
Another solid episode from the Legends of Tomorrow, but I long for the quality of the earlier episodes where personalities were more on display rather than melodrama.
This is the one that did the best job fusing the storyarc of the season, the plot propulsion of a single episode, and character development that has to this point been the best part of the show.
Legends of Tomorrow fell far short of what it could have been. But "Left Behind" was a really pleasant surprise that managed to do something that previously seemed impossible.
