Critic Consensus: Creepy, crawly, and chock-full of first-class guest stars, "Arachnids in the U.K." feels like a big budget B-movie, providing another delightful romp for Team T.A.R.D.I.S..

Critic reviews for Arachnids in the UK
There was a distinctly Seventies atmosphere to this episode, with the Doctor and a ragtag gang of humans battling a monster-of-the-week in an Earthbound setting.
A lot of shonky critters have featured in Doctor Who. But these spiders are a dream (or nightmare), totally convincing, beautifully (or horribly) realized - depending on your phobia/philia.
This episode fires on all cylinders: a horror movie for Halloween, snappy one liners, a simple but excellent monster of the week and some amazing guest characters.
There's still so much excitement surrounding Doctor Who this season, and I've enjoyed so much of what Whittaker has brought to the role of the Doctor. Is it simply too much to ask that her co-stars be given the same opportunities to shine?
Seriously, Doctor Who, this one was just plain mean. Mean, I tell you! Can't we have some genocidal aliens again?
