Janko B @RT74518999 03/16/2025 "DOM" was an emotional rollercoaster for me and a thrilling portrait of a family torn apart by drug addiction and the resulting decline of their son Pedro over the years. The story is based on true events, which makes the whole thing all the more dramatic. >>> SPOILER <<< In two episodes of the final season, Pedro's real-life father, Victor Lomba, has his say. With the release of the series, he hoped that many people around the world would realize how drugs divide and change families and individuals, and drive them into crime. Unfortunately, Victor Lomba died in 2018 and thus did not live to see the series' completion. Pedro Dom died on September 15, 2005, at just 23 years old, shortly before his 24th birthday. His years were marked by addiction, drug withdrawal, hope, love, suffering, confidence, friendship, and, unfortunately, great criminal energy. However, the series strongly explores Pedro's human side, and his actor, Gabriel Leone, brilliantly portrays all aspects of him. The series also delves into the depths of Brazilian society over several decades. It addresses topics such as corruption within the police force, neglect in the favelas, the role of the media in society, and dependence on false friends. The series truly touched me emotionally, and I'm still impressed. See more Read all reviews
