"Hoarders" is an often painful look inside a disease that can bury its sufferer -- literally at times -- in its symptoms. Each hourlong episode profiles two people on the verge of a personal crisis, all caused by the fact that they are unable to part with even the tiniest possessions, and the cumulative effect becomes a mountain of junk and garbage overtaking their home or apartment. If they don't respond to professional help, the consequences sometimes involve eviction, kids being taken away, or even jail time.

01/05/2020 I love this show. It keeps me in check with my own desire to collect things. But season nine, episode six, "Sandra" was BS! Eric seems to be the only person on this episode to understand and have any compassion for the fact that a woman nearing the end of her life is struggling with the fact that she is losing not only her home of many years, but also her life's work and self worth! Very disappointing episode! BTW, she is no dumb bunny; those boys bought that house for pennies on the dollar! nothing wrong with that . . . maybe. . . it is what it is! This episode was not about helping a hoarder and not about making s bad situation better or helping those in need this episode was about helping the bank make a profit . . .
