The search to find the greatest holiday baker begins as eight amateur bakers show off their family traditions and superb baking skills. To survive the challenges from week to week, they must prove their abilities in front of the tough-love judges. In the pre-heat -- the first of two rounds -- the bakers are tasked with creating pastries, cookies or small cakes based on the episode's theme. The winner of the round gets an advantage moving into the main heat, which involves making a larger confection. The winner then moves on to the next episode with the possibility of winning a cash prize and being crowned Holiday Baking Champion at the end.

11/30/2020 The judges completely got this season wrong! Terrible decisionmsking—almost made it feel as if it was rigged. Judges clearly had favorites...in Yule log competition judges gave winnings to two contestants whi did NOT even do a Yule log, they did a cake!!! Ridiculous. Snd the two that did do the Yule log and followed the instructions got called out snd one of them went home. Very poor judgement from the judges, made me question their ‘expert' opinion. See more 12/18/2019 This was the first time I sat down in over five years to watch a baking show and it didn't disappoint. I enjoyed this season and I plan to watch the others as well. This show helped to pass the time and I loved the good nature competition between the hometown bakers and the professional bakers. Also, the challenges were neat and different and I lived to see what the bakers would come up with to meet the challenge. Overall, it helped pass the time and filled in that "holiday" feels that I needed, especially around Christmas time. See more Read all reviews
