Don Danbury is a young bachelor trying to make his way through life. When his grandmother dies, she leaves Don her house. When he moves in, Don meets her overly enthusiastic caretaker, Eddie, who doesn't want to leave the house. Needing money to help pay off the back payments owed on the house, Don decides to get a housemate. He chooses Abby, with whom he was in love as a teenager. But Abby now has a boyfriend, which poses a problem for Don.
