Sara B. @MsBJust Aug 30 I fell in love with Jay and Pamela as I watched this show. Their sense(s) of humor, love for each other, and work to prepare for their wedding and future married life—and to find accessible housing of their own—was powerful. As the show continued, I was disheartened to see how Jay‘s parents doubted the couple’s ability to be independent and seek freedom or tried to hold them back. But Jay and Pamela stuck together and moved forward, growing in their personal skills and in their bond as a couple. As a teacher of a class about disability representation in film and literature, I have watched a lot of shows and found them lacking. This one has it all, with a moving storytelling arc, an emphasis on dismantling ableism in society and in individuals, and two seriously cool, wonderful, funny, brave people at its center.
